Modern animal production is designed to maximize efficiency and performance. Yet, to consistently deliver their maximum, digestion and metabolism must function exceptionally while the impact of stressors needs to be kept to a minimum. In commercial practice however, animals are permanently subjected to stress – particularly from dietary, environmental and pathogenic influences. These stress factors cause the most costly threat during production: inflammation & oxidative stress.
